No, do not do this. Gear Oil is too think for Honda trannies. The only thing that I would recommend is Honda MTL. i am not saying thsi trying ot make you spend more money than you have to, I have tried regular 5W-30 and then I tried the Honda MTL. I like the Honda stuff a lot better. the car just seemd to pull smoother.

yeah, I usually use 20w50...pretty thick stuff. I was thinking of adding jsut a tad of gear oil, but was thinking about just throwing in some Lucas crap in now.
I think the honda MTl is just 20w50 isn't it?

No, the Honda MTL is more like 5W-30. It pours like water. 20W-50 is WAY too think for a Honda tranny. If you switch that stuff over to something even like regular 5W-30 you will notice a lot better performance and shifting characteristics.
