Default ls Vtec oil leak problem

Ok so i have an ls vtec just built and started this week. After startup i checked for leaks and there were no visible leaks. Now i have been driving it around for 1 day trying to brake it in, and when I got her home, there was oil all over the engine bay. on the timing belt side, even splashed onto the bottom of the hood. My first thought was oil pump, so i cleaned everything up and filled it with oil. as I reved the engine to 3k, my friend was looking for the leak from underneath. he discovered that the oil pan was leaking from a corner.

Now my question is, if the oil pan is the lowest part of the motor, how would it splash all the way up to the hood ? Could this be possible?

Also I dont have an oil light come on even tho it got real low. I did have a code for low oil pressure tho.

You can check the cam seals

yea im really gonna have to check that! I replaced the oil pan since mine looke beat-up, and its still leaking. I definately believe its either the cam seals or oil pump.

if it was cam seals, it wouldnt be squirting out oil. oil would usually be on your transmission if that was the issue

well what ever it is is apparently landing on the timing belt and the timint belt is whipping it all over the place. Also I didn't mention that it only leaks when I drive it. Doesn't seem to leak at idle.

Obviously you have no idea what a cam seal is. The cam plug is on the tranny side of the head. The cams seals go around those long things called cams.

someone is pretty smart here LOL..if the cam seals were that bad then it would be obvious when installing...it usually leaks down the side of the head below the cam gears...check your dang valve cover gasket....LOL

only way it could be your oil pump was if you didint tightened in down enough or didnt use any kind of seal for it. just take off your valve cover and start looking from there

Ok thanks people I have found the problem. After taking the lower timing belt cover off and running the motor, noticed the front crank seal was screwed!

Thanks and heres a pic for future reference.
