Default ls/vtec blew up....need help rebuilding

i bought an already built ls/vtec motor last year, and last week i blew a headgasket. i went to put a new gasket on and went to tighten the head bolts and 8 out of 10 are stripped (they were loose when i was taking head off and i thought it was weird. anyways, i bought another ls block with 106k miles on it for 150 and i am going swap everything over to it. when my original motor was built they used stock bolts, and i am going to switch to arp bolts. I know i need to use B18c head bolts, and ls rod bolts (part#208-6001). my question is, which crank should i use, my old one, or the new one??? what piston rings shoud i get (PR3 pistons)??? and do io need to replace the rod and main bearings??? i know i need to have everything balanced too. i know theres stuff im leaving out, so let me know. thanks, John

Yes, replace all of the bearings. Pick and choose which crank you want, just use whichever one is in the best shape. Any 81mm B series piston rings will work.

i would defintely replace the rod bearings but as far as the main bearings go i would pull the crank out of your new block and inspect them. if they look good still i would feel comfortable reusing them....this is if your on a strict budget of course.

a new oil pump wouldnt hurt either

im going to be buying piston rings today, would i have to get 81 mm rings or 81.25?? i dont think the machine shop will have to do much to the cylinder walls except hone them, theres no deep scratches and theres only 106k on the block, so im guessing 81 mm will work, correct???
