I am building a ls/vtec and i have a bare ls block, how much of the stuff off the gsr block will bolt up to an ls block. Parts i am wondering about are the t-belt tensoiner, theromastat houseing, the water tube in back of the block, sensors, and oilpan. I am guessing they are all the same i just want to double check, so i know what to order from acura.

I know you can put the GSR oilpan on your LS block. Pretty sure (but not 100%) the sensors can be used as well.

 

All that stuff will work. I have a water pipe and a brand new tensioner still in packaging if you need.

What are your plans with that GSR block once you strip the stuff you need?

 

I was going to save it for a later project but if the right price came along i guess i could part with it.

I thought the GS-R oil pan was different because of the block girdle? Or do you only need the different oil sump that goes with it to make it fit?

 

You can put a GSR oilpan on an LS block, but you cannot an LS pan on a GSR block. Thats because of the block girdle that you mentioned.

I think the b18a and the b18b are the same block.
