Default lc-1 wideband problems

I have tried to install this two times now with no success. The first time I sent the control unit back to innovative motorsports thinking that the unit was bad. I just tried installing it again, and it is doing almost the same thing, although this time it does seem a little closer to working right. My friend and I have installed one of these before after a little troubleshooting on his mr2. The best way I can describe what the problems are is with the oxygen sensor unplugged from the unit, the display should read around 50, and it does not read anywhere close to that. With the engine running and up to optimal temp, it reads around 8-9. Under acceleration, it drops down from 8-9 and reads between 0-4. It also randomly jumps around to several numbers such as 25, 40, 6, 11, etc. for a split second at a time throughout acceleration.
Has anybody had any of these same problems during installation of this lc-1. We have triple checked power, ground, all our connections and every other possible problem area with no solutions.
Any help would be appreciated.

Yeah, I did think about trying that, but then I thought I just shouldn't waste any more of my time on this piece of ****. I mostly don't want to try it because the unit doesn't make the display read 50 with the oxygen sensor unplugged. I just can't help but think these are the most cheaply made garbage widebands out there. To get my friends to work on his mr2, we had to install the led circuit, without it it wouldn't work at all.
