Default late and inconsistent vtec...

brand new ls.vtec. it hit at 7000 last when i hit vtec for the first time.my oil feed line is 24inches long. i am thinking that thats it. also i have not gotten around to tapping block for the knock sensor so i am getting code. i hit vtec today and it crossed over a little after 6000. anybody?

disable knock in the ecu, and conceivably if it is a USDM head, the vtec oil pressure sensor won't let vtec kick in with low oil pressure.

You can jump that out, by connecting it to the signal wire on the vtec solenoid, and a common ground.

its a jdm head and i am using a pr3 obd0 pr3 ecu.

do you have a diagram or anything. go more in depth.

i believe you need to run Hondata or Chip that disables the knock sensor signal from being read..........

Does hondata suport disabling knock? I thought they didn't.

How to wire bypass vtec oil pressure sensor:

disconnect from oil-pressure sensor, splice it into the vtec solenoid wire.

doesnt matter anymore... the ****** head gasket is blown. i got on it and there was a little smoke that smelt sweet come out of the drivers side underhood, looked under hood and there was a little bit of moisture on the part of the head gasket that sticks out and you could see moisture on the crack.
