Default knock sensor

i have a obd1 GSR in my EG and i keep throwing code 23 but it will turn off if i turn the car off. not really sure how big of a problem this is can it cause major problems if i just keep letting it go. oh yea and the motor is stock no big lift cams or anything like that to make lots of noise just normal old GSR. anythin will help.

I'd say just replace it to be on the safe side

if the sensor is bad you should consider chipping your ecu and haveing the knock removed

its to the left of the oil filter... Kind of a pain to get to.. theres 2 sensors or the back ones the oil pressure and the knock sensor.. the knock is above

This is how I troubleshoot for a 98 civic.. http://redpepperracing.com/technical/143/aee
But you'll need a multimeter. It may work for your GSR, just the checking part. It maybe only comes on when the engine is on because that is when the Knock Sensor microphone detects the knock..meaning you might have a bad KS.
What year is your car? Maybe these manuals that I have used will help..
