Default Just installed distributor now engine misfires and bogs

I just install a 98 gsr obd2 dist. in my b16 obd1 motor. My problem is now that its installed my cars has a hard time starting up. when its starts it runs a bit then it stalls. the motors in the engine bay is shaking irractly. does ne one have a answer or had this problem before. sounds like it is misfiring , the car was running fine until my distributor went out
any help would be appreciated

the answer is: you did a halfass job

did you check the initial timing? did you check spark on all sparkplugs?

i believe your problem is you put the wires on wrong and the wrong cylinders are sparking

Do you know that the distributor is in working condition to begin with? How does the dist rotor look?

heres what my rotor looked like.. my car bogged and misfired as you stated.



edit- Also, here is the dizzy cap and the deposits on the lil metal dudes...

That is exactly what the problem sounds like. Check your plug wires and make sure they are connected right on the distributor, they have to go in a certain order.

Yeah, sounds like your spark plugs are firing at the wrong time. Either the spark plug wires are out of sequence or the distributor is 180 degrees out of phase (?).

that has happened before with my friends too. dist 180 deg. off.

thats why im saying check timing, but the guy doesnt want to listen so oh well.
