I am no expert but, I would say to leave it alone. The bottom end was probably only built to take so many rpms. I wouldnt overdue it. Just my opinion. I think you can throw a rod or something if you over rev. But, I am sure you already knew this.

Like the guy above said...at those RPMs things like rod bots tend to let go.... you would be suprised how much you can change the RPM capability with a set of ARP or such rod bolts only. then comes things like..are you out of the stock cams power range? would the car be faster if shifted at lower RPMs? valve float?

keep it low.... look into a block girdle, rod bolts, rods or shotpeen, oil pump and water pump, ect....ls/vtec swaps with stock bottoms dont last too long

You can rev higher.
but...
I cant imagine its real great for the engine. (but most engine mods to add power arn't)
Stock cams will not make much power at 8200
I am guessing (pretty sure) you would float your valves at 8200 with stock springs/retainers

I have crower 303's and valvesprings/retainers in my B18ls head and a bone stock B20 block and I take it to 8500.

My car isnt a daily though, and it's for fun at the dragstrip mostly. But I havent broken it yet

Your current engine condition and type of driving is something to consider as well.
You dont NEED a block girdle, rods, oil pump, water pump, etc. but all of that is a very good idea, and if you want to autocross or drive it hard for extended periods I dont think reving a stock engine that high is a good idea. Mine hits 8500 for just a few of seconds at a time.

exactly the reason it hasnt blown yet. doing it repeatedly for extended periods of time is just asking for trouble. how long have you had your setup? how often is it taken that high?

for a bone stock b18a/b block do not rev it higher than the stock rev limit

had it running for about a year....had it driving for 6 months or so. Like I said though, I mostly drag it on the strip so that setup is working for me...so far

I did state though tha tI thought it was possibly a bad idea depending on driving style and setup.

I dont think it would be very beneficial for a street car unless a lot more work was done.
