I've done a few search's and I'm still a little confused about what I'm going to need to use. right now I have a del sol with a b16a3, pretty stock but I'm having a engine built with darton sleeves and forged internals.

My question: I know the stock igntion system is good till a certain amount of HP (not sure the exact number) but with the new setup I should be pushing around 350-400 HP and I'm worried the stock igntion will not be enough.

I've been reading about the MSD and it seems they are getting some bad reviews...what options do I have?

 

Drill out the center of the dizzy cap and put in a terminal to accept an external hi-po coil. Ive seen it done on a few cars.

 

I've seen that before too, I've also seen you can buy caps already like that. I was hoping for a little more information on brands and more spacific setups. From what I've been reading MSD isn't getting the best reviews, but I would think the stock ignition wouldn't be enough

 

OEM will be fine for your goals. Don't waste your time or money on anything else.

 

get all new oem wires, rotor, and cap. get the correct heat range plugs and gap them accordingly.

 

How much HP can the OEM system handle?

I've never heard any good things about the MSD ignition set ups for Honda/Acura.

I would rock the stock (refreshed) ignition.

 

Stock ignition here, you will be fine. The Analog stuff from MSD is junk but the Digital 6/7 are good units IMO.
