lately my car start to idle surge and all the sudden the car shut down does anyone know what is happening?

in what condition does happen? engine cold or warm? does only happen at cold start up's and the it goes back to normal once it's hot? or does happen at hot or cold conditions?

 

Sorry to steal the thread, but mine surges only on cold start a few times then stops.What's likely the cause?

 

My Prelude surges when I let off the gas, but its because the IACV sensor is bad.

 

Remove the Idle Air Control(IAC) off the back of the intale manifold. Its only two 12mm bolts to rmove and leave the coolant hoses connected also. Spray carb cleaner into the intake manifold hole on the back of the manifold and into the hole on the IAC valve to clean the carbon out.
