Default Idle help on H22

Swaped an H22 into my EG. Can't seem to get this thing to run right. Its sems to have pleny of power above 2000 RPM and screems on past up to redline. But will not idle. Tested with two different computers. Changed plugs, wires, cap, rotor. Swaped the injectors. Checked the timing and its dead on 15 btdc (tried moving a couple degrees each way with no improvement). Even moved the timing one tooth each way on the belt. OK so this is what its doing: When it is at idle I pull #1 plug wire with no effect. #2 and 3 idle falles with each. #4 when pulled the idle jumps up and smoothes out. Any Ideas.

Its a JDM H22a obd1 running a chipped (phearable.net) ECU and a stock P13 to test.
I've checked all the injector wireing.
New Map sensor
plugs wires cap rotor
replaced resistor box and tested out perfect.
pretty much stock motor w/ lightwieght flywheel (and yes I checked to be sure the mark was correct on it be for it went in)

Make sure it is not sticking open because if it is it will cancel #1 cylinder and cause it to miss/rough idle. You can try a different one or make a block off plate for it.
Which ECU are you running ?

phearable.net ECU, nothing special just a little hp bump. But does not change when I run a stock p13. Havn't looked at it, but will a EGR off the old D15 work to test it?

Cleaned the IACV and took the EGR off and cleaned it up, reinstalled but left it unhooked. Runs like a top. Thanks!

I had this same issue with a buddy H22. Turned out it was the OEM intake manfold gasket by the #1 cylinder. We installed a Hondata gasket and it idles stock now.

TRY THIS:

Take a can of brake clean . While the engine is running.. spray it on all the gasket areas... If the car revs up.. of bogs out... when sprayed on a select area... The area has a leak.

Give it a shot.. Cheap way to find out.

i've never heard using brake cleaner, i've always used starter fluid (its meant to go in the engine)
