i searched but it was no help. IDLE, COOLING and BREAK ISSUES.
i have a delsol with a d16z6 and i am trying to figuer out a few things about her that i am not sure are even issues
A)IDLE
when the car is cold she starts and idles at about 1500 then after a minute starts climbing to about 2200 once it's gotten to that hight it drops back to 500 then imediatly back up to 2200... lather rince repeat.... keeps doing that till the motor is warmer then stops and idles very nicely at a smooth 700ish rpm.
this would lead me to believe that the idle issue is coolant related and that the Fast idle valve is messed up. i think most of you would agree based on what i have read on this site so far but i want to know more before i go at the problem.
where is the FICV mounted on a D16Z6 specificaly and what do i need to do to remove it and repair it?
B) HOSE SUCTION IN COOLING SYSTEM
after the car has been shut off the hoses seem to be vacumed and seem to have sucked them selves together as if to flatten them. the hoses them selves are in good shape but in a toyota this would be a reason to be very concerned. is it somthing i should be seeing or would i be safe to assume that my thermostat needs replacing?
C) BREAKS
the breaks work perfectly but the pedal seems to do nothing until half way to the floor at which point it works exactly like anyother car. could this be an issue with the master cylinder or is there more to it?
tonight i topped off the coolant to be sure it was full (used radgold) and also topped off the break fluid and stuff.
any insight would be great.
