Default Another d16z6 idle issue!! *Mel Gibson roar*

Ok so i just put in a replacement motor for my del sol since the old one had a rod knock, it started up just fine and everything was hunky dory, then the fluctuating idle set in and i havnt figured out what it is yet, im pretty sure all the hoses are good, car only has 97k on it and well taken care of, i put my finger over bottom port on TB and the idle went back to normal, so im guess its the FITV, im unsure because i thought that was for a high idle rather than sparatic like mine is doing, also the car does die when i cover the top hole, so im lost, any help would be appreciated!!

The FITV closes as the coolant heats up. It lets in extra air for higher idle while the engine is cold. If it still letting air through once the engine is fully heated, then it isn't closing. If that's the case, first make sure coolant is running through it by carefully checking that the FITV to IACV hose is getting hot. Next, search HT for the thread on cleaning and adjusting the FITV. If necessary, you can screw the valve completely closed to disable it until you can get a new one.
