ok the problem is that lately my car wont start unless i try and crank it over a few times. sometimes it will start immediately, and other times i will have to try and start the car for a few minutes before it cranks over...i know that it cant be the battery because while trying to start my car the radio will come on fine and everything electrical still works fine. basically if anyone could just give me a checklist for me to check over to diagnose what the problem might be, i'd highly appreciate it. and by the way, my car is a 90si with a B16A. When was the last time you had a tune up?

 

about 9000 miles ago

 

Was this spark plugs, spark plug wires, cap, rotor, air filter, fuel filter, timing, idle speed?

 

Did water get down in the spark plug wells?

 

change you're oil, are plug's dry? they hav to be totally dry, check you're ignition fuse. that's about all I can think of.

 

pull the one of the plug wire out and stick a screwdriver in it and lay it close to a ground surface (DO NOT hold the screwdriver) with someone help crank the car over and watch the gap between the screwdriver and the ground surface and see if there is any spark try to jump to ground! this work better at nite... if you have spark then your ingition system are cool if not then you have problem your ingition system.
