Problems after spark plug change

Problems after spark plug change
I just changed my spark plugs and air filter couple of days ago and I really haven't driven much with the new plugs in. Anyways, this morning when I went to start the car, it would start fine, but after about 5 - 10 seconds the car would just die and I would have to start it again. Sometimes it would die when I was not holding the key into the ignition position. I had to do this about 5-6 times before the car would start and idle on its own. When it is idling, sometimes it feels like its going to die again because it seems to sputter. What could be the problem? My old plugs were pretty worn out and I don't know when was the last time the owner changed them. I've had the car for 3 1/2 years and this was my first time changing them. They were gapped for recommended gap of .044. Will this go away?
I'm kind of worried that the car might die while I'm stopped at a light or something, but it seems to be fine once the car is warmed up. It seems worse when it is cold.
I also heard someone say to reset the ecu, but how do I do that? Do I just pull a fuse? Which one?
Thanks for any help you guys can give.
Oh yeah, this is on a 94 civic.

Re: Problems after spark plug change (RustyDX)
pull off the negative batery terminal for 15 seconds to reset the ecu.
pull the plugs and look at them. What else did you mess with?

since u menti9on d that sometimes it dies when the key is not held leads me to think there might be a short in the ignition switch

Re: Problems after spark plug change (deepnite)
Besides putting in new plugs and changing the air filter, I messed with nothing else.
Everything was working fine before I did this. So my guess is that it has something to do with the new plugs. On the old plugs, the electrode thingy was almost worn out completely, they must have been in there for a long time. They were so worn that the gap was basically twice as much as the recommended gap for new plugs. Would that be causing the problem?
