i have a 89 honda civic lx 194000... the car has a hollow out cat and a cold air intake. the car is runing rough just happen a day ago..does anybody have anyideal what were cause it to run rough. i replaced the plug but no help.any help thanks

 

Check your cap\rotor, plugs\plug wires, and if all else fails do a compression test.

 

the car runs fine when you go above 2500 it sound like nuttin wrong and the car doesnt smoke. y would all of sudden it will run like that ? and the the check light comes on when on the highway and only on the highway they said it a o2sensor

 

It very likely is the O2 sensor. Replace it and let us know.

whoa, let not just throw parts at a car here people. Go buy a Hayes/Helms manuel on your car and go thru the testing directions for the o2, if its bad then replace it. Hate to see you spend 45.00 on a o2 if it dont take care of the problem.

 

Check the code, if it is o2 than check the wiering from the sensor to ecu than u can think of replacing the o2. If its not the o2, it maybe cap and rotor, timing is off or dozens of other things.

 

does any body know where the ignitor is and how to test it ?

 

Inside the distributor, those things are known to take a **** suddenly. I think it's on the right side of the rotor, inside the distributor, if I remember right mine was made by NEC.

 

i found out what was wrong it the distritor any way i can rebuild it
