I am currently a building/steam engineer and part of my job is to determine whether it is worth my company's money and my time to do something like rebuilding pumps, repairing/replacing hvac components etc etc. We have never rebuilt an a/c compressor in the 5 lbs or less class(class 1 I believe I can't remember but I am universally certified). Its just not worth your time. not to mention that most automobile compessors are either hermetically or semit hermetically sealed and would be totally useless if you decided to take it totally apart
I hope I helped you out. I wouldn't touch it

Thanks, that's what I thought . I was curious however, as to why in the helms they have a chapter on rebuilding A/C compressor's, if no-ones ever done it?
IF you aircon isnt working very effectively then the first thing you should try is de- then re-gassing the system with some fresh Freon.
As Redlineracer said, it isnt worth trying to repair the pump due to the seals and its more than likely just tired gas as Its not thant common for a Honda AC pump to fail!
