Default Hub nut

Is the main hub nut reverse threaded or regular? Can't seem to get it off. Does the wheel have to be on and putting pressure against the rotor? I have tried a cheater bar.

AIR TOOLS!!! This is what is almost necessary to get them off. I have a 350 ft/lb impact driver. It got them off in seconds. If you have a friend with air tools, borrow them. Good Luck!!!

they are regular threads...
but it's almost impossible to get those off without impact wrench.
so don't waste your time trying, you'll ending up breaking something like your tools or your arm...
get an air gun on it.
plus you'll need the air gun for other things too, get an air rachet while your at it...
they are both really cheap....
20 to 50 bux.. or you could go all out and spend 200-3000 for an ingersol rand that has like 1000000 ft lbs of torque

to give you an idea how hard THOSE are to get off....

I had the front of the car on jackstands, placed at the hardpoints right behind the front fenders, with the front tires off. Pushing down on a LOONG breaker bar, we only managed to lift the back of the car off the ground and balance it precariously on the two jackstands for a second, then it fell back down to where it was.

it can be done though, we did get it off by hand.

oh, and with all 4 tires on the ground and a bar through the center cap, we spun the tire on the ground (with the brakes held firmly AND the weight of the car was on the tire itself) but still no nut came off.

something is wrong wiht what you guys are doing, that nut is not supposed to be that tight, yes very tite, but there is now way that you should be able to move or spin the tires of the car on the ground, read the manual and torque that nut back on to the right specs. you should be able to get it off with a long breaker bar. or a torqe wrech to put it back on.

ohh yeah i don't know what your doing to your car, but if your doing anything like putting in new barrings. its a good idea to touqe it down, then drive for a while, then touqe it down again so that it will seat properly.

this is redsin95 by the way, i wrote both posts.

I got mine off while it was on the ground with someone holding the brakes, it took a 1.5 foot long breaker bar and a 2 foot long pipe but they came off.

Mine weren't that hard to remove at all. 1/2" drive ratchet and a 3' cheater bar, they came right off.
