how to torque down arp rod bolts
i have LS rod bolts made by arp. you are supposed to torque em to 26ftlb, loosen, torque again, loosen, and then torque to 26 yet once again.
i was just checkin the clearances with plastiguage and i torqued down one rod to 26ftlb(i only lubed the threads not the bearings). does this count as one of the torque cycles. will assembly lube on the bearing deliver different torque specs?
thanks for any help

It's more accurate to tension the "bolt" with a stretch gauge, or by measuring the before and after lengths when torquing with a micrometer.
Lube the threads and the seat of the nuts.
Every time you torque them down, it counts as one cycle.
Assy lube on the bearing does not affect the tensioning of the rod bolts.
