Icon2 how to properly hook up a vtec controller?

i have a obd2a ecu and i have power, ground, illumination, ran correctly because it turns on and off with the key. when i went to hook up the rpm wire. i got a reading but it was jumping all over the place. the tack on the dash was working but the digital reading on the controller wouldnt read right. where is the right wire to splice into?

Well first you pull out your soldering iron, then you put your soldering iron back and throw your VTEC controller in the trash.
