Default How long to break in new engine, when to dyno tune?

OK, building a new engine.

1990 B18A1, stock bottom end(80k miles)-except for new ARP rod bolts
P30 pistons, new rings, ARP rod bolts
B18B head, PnP(street port), all new valves/springs/retainers(OEM)
Either stock or mild aftermarket cams
I/H/E
Thinking of using Hondata S100

My question:

I want to dyno-tune this as soon as possible. A little fearful or damaging the engine(either via incorrect ignition curve or lean condition) on the stock tune.

But this will also be a semi new engine with new springs and rings to seat, and dyno pulled will be going full throttle to 7000 rpm, which doesn't sound good for a new enigne.

Anyone have thoughts on what I should do to get this engine broken in and tuned? Will hondata have a good enough stock program to get me through 500 miles of easy driving until its ready for the dyno?

Thanks for any suggestions,
Haggar

If your getting your hondata from a dealer they will give you a base tune to make the car run. Tell the what motor you have and all the mods. I would do at least 1000 miles before I did a dyno pull. Fresh motors that are pushed hard tend to seize pistons.
