Did you tune it yourself or have someone tune it?
In another thread (https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1608687) the question of what you were using to run your car was raised.
I'm curious if you did it yourself or paid someone else to do it. For purposes of this thread "paid someone else" means you did not participate at all in modifying the engine parameters for your car. If you did a base tune yourself (and I don't mean just burning a chip - actual seat time with a wideband and/or dyno) then count yourself in "self tuned."
By "DIY Tool" I mean: (but not limited to - the idea is this is not a PURELY commercially marketed product)
Crome
Uberdata
TurboEdit
BRE
OBD0Edit
etc.
(if I forgot you, please don't be upset)
By "Commercial Tool" I mean: (again, if I leave you out, don't take it personally)
Neptune
Hondata S200
Hondata S300
AEM EMS
Autronic
Motec
DFI
Accel
FAST
etc.

Re: (D-Rob)
when I had hondata, I had Crescent from c-speedracing do my tune. Traded away my hondata and went with crome and now it's just a buncha guys messing around.... group style DIY I guess?

I have used Hondata s100, s200, s300, CromePro and Turboedit.
And I am not too great at any of them but its fun, and I fell good about what little I can accomplish on my own.

Re: Did you tune it yourself or have someone tune it? (mmuller)
Been street and track tuning myself with Crome Pro, and without datalogging, even though i have that capability. Just good old driving around, reading the wideband, converting to lambda, and making adjustments accordingly as well as timing adjustments. I realized you don't need a car dyno, especially for a street car, so self-tuning capabilities pays for itself. The track is more than enough.
Blundar, this is a good thread, but it's sad to say that most ppl in this allmotor forum don't care how it works, they just care about a dyno sheet, or a trophy, or money runs. LOL

self-tuned with tools such as CROME, pgmfi.org, h-t All Motor forum, and the plx m250.

while i am still looking forward to a dyno session, i would very much like to learn more about wtf a lambda is, as well as how to determine when and how to make adjustments to the ignition maps. i have found very little info on that...

Crome, TurboEdit, for quite some time myself. Tuned myself with AEM EMS twice
Using DIY Wideband, GTECHRR regularly for street tune. Still can't get my damn romulator to work though for real time...have to always burn, datalog, change, burn, datalog, change, etc. Once that works after two years of owning it or so, I'll be in REAL good shape.
I've tuned both forced induction and all-motor app's. Owe it to PGMFI.org for sure, got my feet wet some years ago.
