Default How do water pumps break?

why would one replace a pump?
they seem very straight foward i cant see how one would fail.
Just wondering.

watpump is just gear based on bearing the bearing and hosuing start to fail

the bearings could fail and so could the seal. the seal fails it won't pump and if it does it won't cool correctly and the water will boil as is passes through the engine.

just buy a new on they rare not that bad in price talk to Len on here its always good to change them when the timing belt is changed

Get a type r water pump if your looking for better performance! They are better at flowing water at high rpm's
