Default How do I take out the shift linkage???

Hi All,

As you all know there are two parts of the linkage, one that connects in the trannie and the other thats bolts up to the side of the trannie.

How do I removes the linkage thats connected inside the trannie?

Is there a special way? Special tools?

FYI its covered with a small boot

What should I do?

Use a punch to remove the pin that holds it in. You'll see it if you pull back the rubber boot.

When I did my swap I couldn't get that pin out so I just left it attached and unbolted it at the shifter. Once it was out of the car I was able to get it out no problem.

It's a chisel-type tool that comes to a point - you use it by lying underneath your car and beating on it with a sledge hammer until your shoulder muscles burn so bad you want to cry.
