Pulling the engine/trans outta the 95 GSR, only thing holding on is the shift linkage. How do i disconnect the shift linkage from the trans? Any help will b great!!! Thanks!!!

 

theres a boot where the linkage enters the tranny. pull it back , pull the flat C clip off the shaft. theres what we call the "bitch" pin under it , lol. try and guess why we call it the bitch pin? haha. get a punch that fits the outside edge of the pin , if it fits inside the pin it wont work. use a hammer and the punch and beat the pin out from bottom to top. the other linkage is a simple 12mm bolt.

 

X2 to that, except for the 20ish times I've done it, it's never been a bitch.

PB Blaster, use the right sized punch, hit it with a BFH. Maybe i've just been lucky?

 

Same here... never had a problem getting it out. You just need enough room to get a good swing with the hammer.

 

or if you can't get it, just disconnect it from the shifter side and then get the pin out when you have the trans out.
