HOW TO/DIY replace valve stem seals/valve guides
though a bit of an over-generalization... if you have to ask, you probably aught to get a machine shop to do it.
the seals are pretty easy once the head is appart. pry off the old ones/ press on the new ones with the best fitting deep-well socket untill they click into place.
the guides are more complicated... the head has to be heated (in the oven) to the right temp (somewhere around 250°F but don't quote me..) so the guides can be pressed out of the head. if you get it too hot, you can anneal (soften) the head casting which is bad, or you could have valve seats loosen and shift which is also very bad. same procedure for installing the new guides.
you would also want to check specs and clearances on all of the valves if you plan to reuse them.
check out remaned heads as a possibility. i was able to find a remaned head for my single cam for about the price i would have paid just to buy the new guides and seals!

Car smokes at random only after i shut it off for after its been running and try to run it again afterward it smokes bad, any hard left corner it smokes bad and if i am gonna do one i might as well do both.
idk which one is bad and i ant paying a shop to do a leakdown test for 150
The comp test on the bottom end is 220, and with a cap full of oil in each one is 270.
Cyl number3 has a small noticeable leak down of about 7 psi or so then it stops

I highly doubt your guides are bad unless you bent a valve. I wouldnt recommend changing guides yourself because of the type of work involved, but seals are pretty simple as stated by another user.
the $150 you're not willing to pay for the leakdown test (which won't tell you anything about oil leaks from the stem seals and guides. and also sounds kinda high since you can get a very nice leakdown tester for half that..) won't quite cover a new set of guides you likely don't need.
a set of stem seals will run you $34 +shipping. add to that a spring compressor tool and some fresh oil... there's your $150 and you're done. i bet that will fix your leaking.

you have a B18? you can check out inlinefour.com, i think KMSenginedevelopment.com carries stem seals, also hondapartsunlimited.com is a good resource for discounted OE parts.
as for the spring compressor, if you are not removing the head look for Schley part# 91400A Universal Valve Spring Compressor. a google search of that or spring compressors in general will give you a good start to finding one. i don't think harbour freight has any.

I saw that harbor freight has one for $14.99 but im not sure if it will work, anyone with experience with this specific piece care to chime in?
to change the valve seals is not a big job ...you can change it with your head still in the block as for quides i recommend to go to a machine shop is not a simple job but the best you have to do before you mess i agree is to order a leak down tester to see what happend
Euroexportinc.com has the best valve spring compressors. Simple and easy to use ally's you do is bolt the tool to the head bolt holes, instead of using a universal spring compressor that could and has potential harm of messing things up. Awesome site check it out, little expensive but I rather do my projects right.
Not sure why you bumped and old pointless thread but those EuroExport valve spring tools used to be $38 shipped... It is a nice tool be definitely not the best. The ValveMaster is probably the fastest tool and VERY easy as well. Only added tool you need for ease of use is the valve stem seal specific pliers to remove the old ones.
