not too familiar with running higher compression pistons on a d16y8. who makes high comp pistons for y8's? if i was to build up my motor for high compression what would i need to consider being that i purchased stronger rods and bearings. fuel upgrade? head gasket?....??????

If you decided to upgrade you block internals, you might want to consider an out right swap - B16A. Cost and labor for resleving and upgrade of internals is way more than a swap. If you really want to work your y8 (props for doing BTW) I would search for some JE pistons, eagle rods and bearings. You wouldn't need a thinner head gasket, however it could raise compression upto .4 more. Of course fuel management would also need to be upgraded, but that's the cheap part, just a rail or reguartor - dyno to properly tune... Good luck.

1. endyn, je, weisco non roller waved,
high compression make your car run leaner wich make higher combustion chamber temps so you need added fuel and a Little better cooling system like a radiator cap and thermostat will help.
