High oil pressure in B20Z
I have a 2001 B20Z in a 91 integra, the motor has 73,000 on it. I have an oil pressure gauge hooked up, and my psi above 3000rpm is between 75-80 and at idle its at 23 is this bad? and what could my problems be? the motor sounds and seems to be running fine. The motor i had in before was a B20B4 and the pressure was dead on 10psi at idle and 55 at 3000 rpms and above so i dont think its the oil pressure gauge but it could of just gone bad for all i know, and i noticed some air bubbles in the line running to the oil pressure gauge could that cause it to read higher psi than it should?

I have no idea about that motor, but those pressures are normal for D16 motors. 20 psi at idle, max pressure of 90 psi at 4,000 RPMs.

no. like i said it's a good thing. people buy aftermarket or modify their pumps for higher psi. clogged pcv systems and not changing your oil is what ruins gaskets.

how would one get the bubbles out?

i would like to know? and or does my oil pump have some problems? my motor is stock its not like i have a vtec head or have a turbo and have a crazy build going on. Just found out today that normal psi is 10 at idle and 45 at 3000 and above so if anybody has a clue please let me know what u think?

With the engine running and gauge hooked up, crack open the oil feed line at the gauge. Have a rag or bucket ready, because it will make a big mess. Watch the line, and when all the air bubbles are out, tighten the line again.

10 at idle and 45-50 at 3000 is (in a shop manual) the specified MINIMUM, not the normal psi.

Thats what I thought but didn't know if the bubbles would have just come back... Thanks!

that sounds low
high oil pressure is good, shouldn't be complaining about that
My motor (H22A with no balance shafts) has 19-20 psi at idle (750rpm) when warm and 80+ at 3,xxxrpm
What wieght oil do you use?

shouldn't be worried at all but I would use a 10w30 oil or even a 20w50... remember motor oil thins out when hot so you don't want too thin of oil to start with.

Re: High oil pressure in B20Z (88ED8)
I don't know why your complaining. Those are perfectly good pressures. Just because someone has a VTEC head, or a built motor doesn't mean the oil pump is magically going to put out 100+ psi. Your oil pump is internally regulated. The thicker the oil the higher the pressures will be, as the motor warms up and thins the oil, the pressures will all go down slightly. Remember the Honda manual just states the "minimum pressures." Not sure about older B20's, but the newer CRV B20's have the same oil pump that honda uses in the ITR motors.
Live with it. Pressure is good.
