High idle when the car is rolling. wtf?
When the car is rolling, in neutral and clutch out (or in, whichever) it idles at about 1,500. Then as soon as the car stops rolling, the idle dies down to below 1,000. It does this like clock work: car rolling, higher revs. Car sitting still, low idle.
I checked, cleaned, and added a ground. Any ideas?

The ecu has a control of still idle and moving idle. moving idle is usually around 1100-1200. 1500 seems high but a raised idle is normal when the ecu sees input from the speed sensor and the car is in neutral (clutch in or out of gear). Is your ecu stock or has it been modified? What car are we talking about?

Hey thanks Hanna. No, the ECU isn't stock, the only problem is we don't know exactly to what level it's been "modified", as my friend that built the car originally got it used. I'm trying to get it tuned ASAP, just a matter of time and $. It's an EG Hatch w/ a B20, worked LS head, Crower Stage3 cams/springs/retainers. It also used to be an automatic, which is what I was inititially wondering about with the high idle wondering if it was the speed sensor or something. Thanks again.
Well If has been Uberdata chipped they have control over moving idle...it could be set high depending on the ROM bunt to the chip. If you want to send me the chip in the ecu I can double check for you. I think thats the extent of what I can do for you. Either way i doubt that there is a problem since it isnt regulated by speed..as long as the car is moving its still the same preset moving idle rpm regardless of how fast its moving.
