Default rough idle

OK. Started last night backing out of my friends driveway, i have a ACT 6 puck clutch so it tends to chatter well i usually dont let it chatter but i did last night and when i got out my idle skyrocketed to 2000rpm. So i was like what the ****? So i restarted it reset the ECU and it went down a little but it still sometimes will go up to 2000rpm and hunt for an idle between 1000 and 1500rpm. I checked the manifold for VACCUM LEAKS and FOUND NONE. Does anyone else know what else could be wrong because I am all out of solutions. When i let my car idle for a while the car started popping like a mis fire not in a pattern but frequently. What the hell is wrong with my car.
This has happened before for no apparent reason, other time was when i was going to work i was merely backing out and i was confused as to why it was idling so high when the car was warmed up.
It happened again when i was backing out of my driveway only my car stalled, and then when i tried to start it it turned over about 10 times then it had the roughest idle at like 100rpm then it slowly went up to normal RPM.
I have a D16Y5 with a home made turbo kit running 12:1 FMU inline pump for fuel with a missing link MAP sensor bypass and 1 degree colder honda spark plugs.

Without seeing the car it's hard to say, but here's a few ideas. For starters, you chould run a 2 step colder plug if you are running any serious boost. Remove your throttle body and seperate the idle/air control section, look for any serious build up of carbon. You will see a little "flap". that is supposed to close when it gets warm, carbon build up will cause it to stick. Clean the ENTIRE throttle body while it is off the car, a tooth brush works really well. Wynn's intake cleaner is probably one of the best around. If you've already checked for vacuum leaks, did you check it with a spray, or a smoke machine. The throttle body sticking creates a vacuum leak.

try, let me know.

p.s. running a 12:1 is great, but it will cause over fuelling which turns into heavy build ups in the throttle body.

i took the IACV off and cleaned it with carb cleaner. Disconnected TPS to see what happens and MAP. MAP fucked up the idle royally, TPS didnt do much. It idles properly now, only at startup it goes to 1600rpm then stays a while then down to 1400 for a moment then to normal idle speeds and studders when i pulse the throttle. It also will start to studder like im pulsing the throttle on the highway when im not boosting at all.

I am running a 1 step colder plug, i boost around 9-10psi at the track with 110 octane fuel in the tank.

Ive been running the same plugs for about 6-7 months has about 20 runs at the track on them, so i am going to replace them tomorrow see if it helps.

I wonder if the primary o2 could have something to do with it if one of the wires got cut (cause i cut the wires and re soldered them when i couldnt get the harness to reach

i allready did this in the EG section. but i'll say what i told them. in colder weather if you have advanced timing your idle will do that. 2 things to do to fix this. one retard and advance the timing on your distributor, that usually fixes the problem. what happens is people have their timing too advanced, and the motor works weird like that in colder weather. i know i live in NH it snows here everyday. two if you have cam gears your timing is advanced too much and you should bring it down a notch. if these dont work is because, your timing is off . my car did that and i retarded timing on the distributor, now its fine. people say its you map and tps or idle control valve. not true 99.9% of times

k this is kinda what my car does ......when i start it up the idle flies to 4-4.5k then drops and rises then drops it keeps doing this unless i give it gas
things i checked or swapped out with spare parts

1.thermosat (didnt solve it)
2.coolant sensor under the dist area( didnt solve it)
3.flushed and bleed the system(nope not that either)

so i took it to my friends shop and he said it was prolly the valve under the TB so we took my intake off and there are two holes in the TB the one at the bottom i put my finger over and idle went back to normal and everything was fine
so im guessing that valve is bad anyone know the name of it? i have a ls TB and the vavle looks the same can i just swap them out? or should i trie cleaning mine with the method in the post above? thx guys

oh by the way its a 95 gsr
