Default Is this normal?

When i'm driving in any gear and then slap it in neutral, my rpm goes back to 1000 rpm then bounces up to 1200 then comes back down to 1000 and its not until i'm at full stop will my idle drop to 800 and is dead still.

The ECU has a different idle preset for when the car is moving. If the car is rolling at all, the ECU will pick up the VSS signal and it will adjust for the "rolling idle" preset. When you come to a complete stop and the VSS no longer detects movement, the ECU will switch to the regular idle. The rolling idle is supposed to be higher than the regular idle. It's not supposed to bounce around though...

it doesn't really "bounce" around it just goes up to 1200 then come back 1000.
