You will need 15-20A fuses to power the ballasts. This is a common problem to people that install kits. I believe the stock fuse is 10A, which is too low.

I had the same problem. Changed my fuses to a higher rating (12 or 14) and that fixed the problem. Supposedly I hear you can blow some wires out if there's too much voltage running through them. Not sure if that's true. Anyhow, if it does, good luck locating the spot where it blew.

I've heard of harnesses melting, its always better to use thicker guage wiring for your harnesses

You can make your own harness with about 20$ worth of stuff from radioshack. Mine's been running strong since July. You will need 12 guage wire, 1 30A automotive relay, 3 inline fuse holders with 1 30A and 2 15A fuses, some zip ties, an assorted pack of connecters for connecting the wires to your battery and ground, and some butt connectors. I drew out a diagram in MSPaint and posted it on hidforum here. If you need any help pm me

Adding the relay will prevent melting the harness if you run it off the stock system?

Using the wiring harness allows the ballasts to be powered directly from the battery rather than through the factory harness, which was only meant to handle 12V 55 watt bulbs. You can probably get away with using the stock harness but using a harness with a relay ensures the ballasts are getting all of the power that they need and you aren't risking damage to the stock harness.

It can't be too hard.. Just like wiring up any switch to a lighting device. Did the fogs come with a relay or is it just a (+) or (-) circuit that runs through a switch?
