Default HID guru's help with blinking HID bulb

I've had a set of Hid's installed on my car for a little over a year now and the other nite 1 bulb stopped working, when i turn the headlights on the bulb will blink 5 or 6 times as if its trying to work but after that it just shuts off. ive checked for loose connections with no avail. I dont think its a problem with the bulb, more or likely the ignitor or ballast. Wondering if anyone has had this same problem and what fixed the problem. any help is greatly appreciated.

My passenger side HID has always blinked for a few seconds before coming on completely. It's never not stayed on though (well, maybe once). I always figured it was a loose ground somewhere, but could never pinpoint it. Like you said, it may be inside the ballist or ignitor. Not quite sure what to tell ya.

i've had a few problems like that before on a few of my HID kits...most of the turned out to be a loose ground. but if you said all your connections are perfect, it maybe be the ballast...switch the left with the right one...and see what happens. good luck

sounds like the igniter or ballast cause in hid lights on buildings and stuff thats usually the problem if the bulb is comin on and goin off. I'm an electrician see it all the time at werk

It is most likely a ground that is loose, causing it to flicker
