My friend had the same problem, I think that you have the paper clip, wire, in wrong! Tske it out and then put it back in! It has to be touchng the two metal pins!

from what i've heard solid cel while jumping means bad ecu. are you sure you're jumping it correctly? maybe it wasn't in all the way?

Did the CEL come back on or are you just trying to see if there are any codes again? If you jump the ECU without the CEL ever being thrown, the light will stay solid because there are no codes. If it did throw a CEL, and the light is solid, it usually means the ECU is bad.

thanks for the replies

yes i'm trying to see if the o2 code was still there....but it gave me a soild light.
no cel came on after i changed the o2 sensor.
so does this mean i have no codes? i thought no codes was no soild light when jumping?

I believe you get a solid CEL when you have no codes, correct. So if you have no CEL, when un-jumpered, and then you jumper it, and it's solid, it means no codes.

If you have a CEL, and jumper it, and it is still a solid CEL, that means bad ecu/ecu program.
