Default Cel stays on when jumped

As the topic says, When I jump the ecu for a 92 d15b7 the cel stays on... What does that mean, That the ecu is bad? TIA

if u have no check engine light and u jump the ecu it will just stay on no big, deal if u have a CEL and u jump the ecu it is suposed to flash the codes. but if u have a CEL and u jump teh ecu and it doesnt flach and just stays on that usually means the ecu is bad

it also might mean you're not jumping it properly.

if the CEL is on. and you try and jump it but arn't making proper contact with the metal on the plug, its not gonna flash.

The cel wasn't on, I just decided to check it, It's not my car. So obd1 isn't my strong point Thanks guys for the fast response
