Help with rebuild
I’m rebuilding a LS short block that has high mileage; the rebuild is for a DRAG III set up booting no more than 12psi. Is it a good idea to get after market pistons or just get a new set of OEM pistons from the dealer? I will be staying with 9:2 CR. I have eagle rods al ready. I don’t know much about relsleaving, can some one give me some info or tell me where can get some info and pics of a resleaved block? Is there any site I can check out? I’m trying to learn as much as possible about building a motor for FI.
I have tried doing a search but the search on this board suck and the guys in the FI forum is no help

Since you already have aftermarket rods you should get forged pistons.
Otherwise you would have to modify the stock pistons to use the rods.
JE and Wiseco are both good brands.

Agreed.... aftermarket pistons have a higher melting point and should withstand heat that may be caused during tuning & racing, etc. Just about any of the aftermarket pistons will be sufficient, just be sure to properly assemble everything.
Resleeving is basically removing your exsisting ones and putting in stronger ones.
I lost all my links for that......godzilla sleeves ?????
N-E-Way, you sleeves will be fine just look into other pistons here is a site that some people have bought pistons from

You may need to bore and hone the block to take a 81.5mm piston depending on the condition of your cylinder walls. You would have to check the cylinder wall width and also check for a taper in there. I would just bore and hone it anyhow... its not that expensive. About 70 bucks or so.
