im in the middle of building my ls vtec and im tryin to order sum pistons and rods for a boost set up i pulled the motor out of a 98 integra the bottom end is a b18b1 with a gsr head and im getting it bored out 1 over so im looking for 82mm pistons for it now but im wandering wat pistons to get where to get them or if so the product number for the pistons and would i need to get a block machined for H beam rods

Most of what your looking for will be easy to find, I personally like CP Pistons but there are a lot of good companys out there. I would get in touch with one of the venders in the FS forum and get a Piston/Rod combo.

 

wat im really concerned for are where to get 82mm pistons at meaning best place for price and is it true i can only bore out my block to 81.5 back bore size

 

no you can take the cylinders out to 85mm but if you did the cylinders would be really weak and you would have to have it sleeved but you should be fine at 82mm unless your plannin on pullin big numbers

 

Most people believe that if you're going to turbo, then you don't really want to go over 81.50mm, but you can get away with 82mm.

 

just dont go for like 550hp goals on those sleeves

so would 82mm stock sleeve bore be able to handle 20lbs of boost securely with block guard

 

I'd stay 81.5mm (you won't gain anymore power with 82mm from 81.5mm, and it has a better chance of holding). There are many debates regarding block guards. that's up to you.

and most things dont break at a sertain level of boost they break at a sertain point of horse power

 

no turbo in particular jus wandering incase i plan on moving up with a bigger turbo
