HELP: Oil Leak
I have been having a problem for sometime now with an oil leak and it is driving me nutz. I have believed it to be coming from the oil pan b/c it drips on the ground and thats where I always notice it first. However I wonder if the problem lies somewhere else, like the front main seal on the oil pump! I have gone through 3 oilpan gaskets and the problem still persists. The reason I keep thinking its the oilpan gasket is that everytime I change it the gasket is coated in oil. but everytime I change it it still leaks. Now Im no dumbass when it comes to working on cars and I have never had this problem before with my other cars and have changed the oilpan gasket before. I have torqued to bolts to spec on one gasket and the gasket squeezed out. I believe this caused a leak, so next time I used a new gasket and torqued them down a lil less and the gasket did not aqueeze out but it still leaked. So now I have changed the oilpan and thegasket again and it went aday w/o leaking and then it began to leak again.
The thing that makes me think that it may not be the oilpan is when driving around it slings oil all over the engine bay on the timing belt side, but there is hardly any oil on the crank pulley and it only does it driving around town. The motor was just rebuilt earlier this year. so it has new cam seals and the oil pump is brand new and so is the seal. Im going nuts here what could be causing this. The only thing I can think of that ma cause my oilpan to leak is I have not used hondabond yet and that Im wondering since I didnt put the gasket between the oilpump and the pickup(b/c the manual said it was optional and not necessarily needed) maybe it is leaking on that said of the pan on the gasket and causing it to soak the gasket ending a result causing a leak.
What do you guys think, I am going nuts!

1. Honda bond is only used by the dealer and dumbasses that think their car won't run right if they don't use it.
2. Clean engine very well, raise car, let idle, then go underneath and look for the leak.
3. Remove timing cover and check for leaks.

like slomofo said....just get under the car and actually look for the leak, no sure way to tell without looking. clean all of the oil off and then come back and check where there is new oil from. and i happen to work at a honda dealership and hondabond works damn good
UPDATE:
I cleaned everything up put the car up in the air and let it idle at 1000 rpms and 2500 rpms the leak began constantly dripping right from under the crank pulley on the oilpan. However it didnt throw any up from the timing belt cover.
So my question is:
Is it possible that since I didnt put the gasket in between the oil pump and the oil pick up, could it be pushing its way out of the oilpan gasket?

its prolly oil front main seal, sometimes if your not very carefull, they wont seat right when you put the oil pump through the crank.
as far as the gasket between the oil pock up and pump...it wont cause the oil to push out...but i really would not run the engine without one of those. what if that oil pick up falls out because of vibration.
if it also leaks too much you could starve the engine for oil

If the front main seal, wouldn't the timing belt throw oil all over the place? But I will pull the crank pulley and check!

No it is dripping fast from the oilpan in one spot

I have another question.......
Could it be possible that the header is heating up the oil and making it seep out of the oil pan?(THE HEADER IS RIGHT UP AGAINST THE OILPAN)
sounds like the crank seal, I thought it might be worse. I had a problem similar to this. I kept replacing the oil pan gasket over and over but the oil kept leaking also noticed the gas milleage got worse. I was lossing compression at the rings witch was pusing oil out the pan. Hopefully you don't have that problem. Cross yur fingers and hope it is the crank seal.

How would losing compression cause a leak like that? There is no oil leak into the cylinders.
I dont think it is the crank seal, I have already checked that!
