Default Help... Missed gear from 3rd to 2nd

Ok so i pulled a stupid move I was getting on the interstate a couple weeks ago and was all the way wide open throttle and the on ramp turns to the right and I go to pull it into 4th and the turn I think pulled me over a little bit and I hit second and dumped the clutch cause I thought i was in 4th. The revs went probably to 9 or 10 (on the ex gauge cluster, went almost to the 6 o'clock position) I was expectin to have trouble right after that so i babied it all the way back to school and there was no problems but now when I start it up it ticks a little bit and then when i am driving it ticks quite a bit not really really loud just loud enough to hear in the car with out the radio on. I went under the hood and listened to it and it sounds like its either right where the valves are on the drivers side or else like right behind the exhaust manifold. I belive it sounds like a valve or something but i was wondering if any of you have ever had this problem. This motor is a d16y8 so SOHC Vtec, that has 60,000 on it i replaced the motor and it had 52k on it earlier this year I dont really wanna have to go find another motor so i would rather see if i could fix whats broken. is there any easy way other than takin the head off to see. I am going to readjust the valves next weekend when i go home to see if that does any thing. ANY IMPUT WOULD BE VERY HELPFUL thanks guys.
and i tried to search the forum for about and hour to see if any one else has posted about this
Thanks
Travis

Do a compression test.

Sounds like a valve may be bent a little. Done it misfire or run rough. When they bend it increases valve lash and it will tick.

My car runs like a champ there is no misfiring, no anything negative. How hard would it be to tell what valve was hit. and how much is it to replace the valve and would i have to replace all the valves or just the bent one
Thanks for all the help guys

u dont have to replace all the vales. but your car will still run fine but at high rpm u could run into furthure damage. i would get it fixed

Its not a small repair dude. I think you should bite the bullet and bring it to a decent repair shop.

Me and a buddy built a 513 hp b16 so i think i am def competant of replacing a valve i just want to know what other people think I should do or what they have done to replace their valve and how they tested to know what valve was bent if they did the fluid test by tipping the head and seeing what valve leaked I just wanted to know if there was an easier way.
