Help, installed MSD, wont start...
MSD 6al Ignition
Heres what i did:
Red Big- I hooked to + Battery terminal
Black Big - Grounded to the frame near MSD box
Orange - Hooked to + Coil (Internal)
Red - Hooked to + Coil (internal)
Black - Hooked to - Coil (Internal)
White - Hooked to - Coil (internal)
I dont have the MSD external Coil... Did i do this right? It wont start, and when i unhooked all the wires and MSD it started up just fine.
Does MSD have a fuse I can check?

Did you know: Manufacturers of products, especially well known ones such as MSD, have a website that usually include a download section of manuals.

You have to cut some wires on that box so itll run on a 4 cylinder...its been so long since I had a 6al that I forgot which wires you gotta cuts..theyre in a loom, that you pull out and then you cut I believe 2 of the wires....anyone else know which color wires they are,I forgot

You try this to test the box? maybe its fried..
If you are using the White wire (points or electronic amplifier) of the MSD to trigger the ignition, follow these steps.
1. Make sure the ignition switch is in the Off position.
2. Remove the coil wire from the distributor cap and position the terminal so it is approximately 1/2" from a good ground.
3. Disconnect the MSD White wire from the distributor points or the ignition amplifier.
4. Turn the ignition to the On position. DO NOT CRANK THE ENGINE.
5. Tap the White wire to ground several times. Each time the wire is pulled away from ground a spark should jump from the coil wire to ground. If spark is present, the ignition is working properly.
If there is no spark:
A. Inspect all of the wiring.
B. Substitute another coil and test again. If there is now spark, the coil is at fault.
C. If there is still no spark, check to make sure there is 12 volts on the small Red wire from the MSD when the key is in the On position. If 12 volts are not present, find another 12 volt source and repeat the test.
D. After inspecting the test procedures and inspecting all of the wiring, there is still no spark, the Ignition is at fault. See the Warranty and Service Page for Information.

if you're sure that you installed the MSD correctly, check the ignition fuse under the dashboard. i had similar experienced on my 6A before and i'm sure i did the wiring correctly and it turns out i had a blown ignition fuse under the dash and i don't know what caused it so i just replaced the fuse and didn't have any problem anymore.
