help having issues with hx motor!!!!!!
I bought this 99 civic from a friend and i dropped a hx motor in it because that's all i had. I am running it off of a p2p SOHC vtec. I got rid of all codes but it repeatedly throws a code 1 and has a sort of a miss and is kind of slugish when vtec is ingaged or during full throttle. So i guess since this is an economy motor does anyone think that the ex ecu is dumping to much fuel or what? I was running just fine in the car it came out of which was a 98. Is why i could'nt use the stock ecu. If anyone has any helpful info please let me know!!!!!!!Thanx
P2P is the Ex ECU?
What O2 sensor are you using?
Yes - I think the Ex ECU is not exactly compatible with the Hx motor which is probably causing most of the 'performance' problems you're having.

I agree entirely. The HX VTEC is different from the EX's, and I would bet that's where your problems are arising. Both are for economy, but the HX is more economy I think than the EX is.
