#1 What is a "cam valve cover"

#2 Why would you need to cut the "cam valve cover" if you have "cams + stock cam gears" installed? Think about it...

#3 Who gave you the idea that it would need to be cut and for what reason?

Ok since you don't get it, people cut the ends off or cut the moon shapes on the ends so they have easy access to adjust their adjustable cam gears.

You stated "cams + stock cam gears," have you figured it out yet?

the skunk cams or any cam and any adj cam gears will fit inside the the stock valve cover. if u plan to buy adj cam gears, cutting moonshape will make it easier to adj.

Ask Larry @ endyn if you can have it. He is using that picture as a reference.

not all cam gears clear the plastic upper cover, so sometimes that needs to be cut. though most of them fit fine. i find if there is any interference its mostly the bolts that u use to adjust the gears taht stick out a hair too much and hit the plastic cover.
