Default help with engine light

my car keeps giving me a code 14 which is the iacv so i changed it and it still throws the code. i checked the wiring still pops up and i reset the ecu so now im out of ideas the only thing that might be the problem is i have a stripped screw on my intake manifold would that throw the code???? any ideas???

That's only the first step in checking the wiring. You probably have to get a multi-meter & a circuit drawing in order to get much farther. Could be a cut wire somewhere on the way back to the ECU. Those can be a real PITA to find.

when u start the car when its cold
does the rpm ever stay up then drop?

around 1500 then back to about 800 when warm up

if ur runing obd2-1 and ur car doesn t idle up then back down when warm ur iac valve it not wire rite and u need to repin it
i have the wireing
but if it does we need to look more into it

i just checked it drops but only to about 1250 not down to 800

if ur idle never drops under 1200 first u need to adjust the idle screw on the throttle body

no but it affects it

do this put ur obd2 ecu back in if the rpm goes up and down repeatly then we need to reroute ur iac wire.

did u cut the three wire iac plug and use two wire only 4 the obd1 iac valve?
if so all we need to do is repin it

yea the 3 wire was cut down to 2 wire so i have to repin it now???

yep u have to repin it
u will need a muti-meter to find out what wire is what 4 this

actually i ll look at an obd2 car i repin tommorrow and send u the exact wires and pins to put them
