My 1990 CRX has been acting up for a little while. First off the car would run regular once i got it started, then after awhile of driving it would start to buck really bad and didnt want to rev at all. Then the car would stall out and whenever i got it started again then hit the gas it would stall out. And now it wont start at all.

i checked the wires, plugs and i dont know what else it could be possibly the fuel pump??? it just cranks and cranks now but will not turn over

PLEASE someone help me !!!!!!!

 

Had a 90 Civic and the igniter was a recall item. Just a thought. Have you checked for spark or fuel?

 

My car is currently going throught a similar process, but my techician told me I need a new ecu. My ecu got shortage.

 

and the tach has been jumpin all over the place

 

definitely igniter problem

 

how do u know it could be the ignitor prob???

 

could be a bad distributor.. after time the coil wears down and if it getts bad enough the car won't start

disconnect the fuel line at the filter and turn over if it pumps you eliminate that..
(edit: use someone to help you with this as it is dangerous and can ignite the fuel)

I think it sounds like dist. tho.. a buddy's 91 crx did the same thing.. $ for a used dist. tho

well after letting the car sit over night i got in it today and it started right up no problem it was driving fine untill after a little while once i start to really give it some gas it starts to buck and buck and buck and the tach goes nuts. but besides that it started right up no prob and then after a little bit of driving it starts up again.

and then after it starts doin this if im in nuetral and try to rev it a little bit it wont rev it like it wont let it at all

 

the car starts fine it just that the tach jumps and it bucks i asked some mechanics at my job (honda) and they said its prob the ignitor cause that would be the only thing that could make the tach jump like that. cause it sends a signal to the tach so i will try swappin it out and hopefully it works

 

yep it was the ignitor swapped it out with a brand new and it works fine

 

check out the distributor..that was my frens problem.used mine and it work fine.
