Help! Car is acting weird.
Since I got my engine built I can't get it to run right. I have everything set like stock right now- Injectors, ecu, everything, but for some reason the car runs way rich and if you give it any throttle it falls. I can't find out what is wrong. No codes are being thrown and I would like to get this thing back on the road some day. A list of anything that may contribute to this would be helpful.
looks like I have the same problem as you right now

With mine, I've gone through everything, engine timing, wiring, etc. it all checks out.
When you pull the plugs, are they soaked with fuel? mine are

The car runs, it just doesn't run right. It sounds like it's running right, but it isn't. It starts up with the first turn of the key, so I have no idea what it could be.
check your engine timing. check it GOOD. make sure the line up PERFECTLY. sometimes it can be tricky. turn the motor over 8-10 times once you have the tensioner tight. if it looks a little off after 10 times, try again, you didn't do it right. this part can be very tricky sometimes.
Jeff, adam said you have tried different ecus right? What else have you swapped out? Injectors? dizzy? Map sensor? Try unplugging something like the map sensor and see if it throws a code.....try to eliminate it being the ecu.

It's not the ecu, I have used Adam's and he has used mine. Codes do get thrown when you unplug sensors. I have changed the injectors, but not a distributor, if someone has one let's try it.
I just got a fuel pressure gauge and the fuel pressure is right, so I really have no idea what it could be. Someone must have some idea what it could be.
I have swapped that also, but if the fuel pressure is correct then wouldn't the fpr be operating correctly? I am using the same head from when I melted a piston, could the head be bad? It looked fine, but maybe something got messed up. I dunno.
oh yea it did..
But I always had a CEL (o2 sensor) so I over looked it...
Quick question, do you have a cat on the car could it be blocked..
My car one day out of the blue blocked up the cat... would give it gas and it falls
also no CEL
