Default header install on DA went wrong!!!!

about 9:00pm a friend and myself decided to install a header on his car..............

Well we get into it jack the car up and set it on jack stands, the usual. We get his old nasty behind Chikara torque step (engine choker) off of his built ls/vtec. Here is where things go bad, since it is a DA and the header i was installing was a one piece meant that i had to movet the front cross member out of the way for clearance. I start unbolting everything like normal, first i unbolt the motor mount and notice something a little weird, the motor mount bolt was stubborn to come out and once it did come out the front of the engine fell about 1/2" and steadily slanted. I thought nothing of it.

Here is the scary part......
i go up under the engine and unbolt the support bracket that attaches between the sub frame and the chassis and notice nothing, unbolt the sub frame and start to loosen the radius rods for the front suspension and i notice something really weird
THE ENGINE WAS SITTING ABOUT 6" LOWER THAN IT SHOULD ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. I freaked out thinking i had broken something on someone else's car that i was going to have to pay for. Well it turned out that there was only one bolt holding the drivers side mount to the block and that one was stripped (was already stripped from the looks of it and from the amount of crap on it), one was missing totally and the bottom one had broken out which also had happened previously because the bolt head was nowhere to be found.

to think i was under this car/engine with the engine ready to fall out
now i have to pull the engine to install helicoil in two holes and get ez outs to the broken bolt and hope that the threads are still good

plus this is kinda happened at a convenient time seeing as though the tranny had to come out anyways because of new guts being installed, also it was a blessing in disguise because it could have been a much larger problem down the road

haha, update: Tranny became such a pain, and I was observing trying to learn as much as I could about the whole ordeal... Anyhoo, such a bish we ended up with LS 1 and 2, ITR 3,4,5, new 3-4 synchros, and the 4.4 FD. So I think it'll be an alright setup.

Not to mention she's getting a new flywheel, new throwout/pilot bearings, and a new header... Which Dirty Dan is working on right now... I cant cuz I got werk in the morning.

Hope for the best...
