Default Head Gasket

Just wanted to know how hard it would be to change a head gasket on a B18c1. Also i have oil leaking out from the left side near the headers where the block and the head come togeather there is like a litle vin number there too if that helps . Would that be because my head gasket is shot .

Check the distributor-side exhaust cam seal.

A head gasket replacement only takes about 5 hours, but it'll save you 4.5 hours if you only have to replace the cam seal.

many times the oil will drip down onto the headgasket from the cam seal or valve cover gasket, and will appear that the headgasket is leaking

man that same **** happen to me....

i thought my head gasket was bad and my boy shawn (22lbgs-r)
took my distributor off and greased the seal on the back of it and it stopped.

Notes: thought my head gasket was shot and it wasnt.
it turned out to be a seal on the back of the distributor

Spray that whole area down with a buttload of brake cleaner, then go run the **** out of it. Come back, pop your hood, and see where its coming from. Its probably not your head gasket.
