GSR Swap Wiring into an EK problems.....IAB won't work
I am posting this for a friend who just did a swap. Everything works but the secondary runners(IAB). Here is what he wrote me:
Yeah I'm running OBD1 with a GSR p72 ECU,I'm having problems with the runners,I had to make my harness from my stock one so I used the '94GSR book for reference for the wiring of the intake runners.I wired it so the get power from the engine harness(supplied by the PGMFI main relay) and them connected to ECU A17 plug that I assumed (from the manual) that is supposed to ground this wire to activate. The original harness that came with the engine(OBD2) is wired opposite,it's grounded to the t-stat housing and the ECU supplies the power. I checked the voltage at A17 and it has 4.5V until 5750rpm and the voltage drops off.So I wired it like the OBD2 harness and grounded the one side and fed the 4.5V to the solenoid and it does nothing,I.ve tried to reverse the polarity but with no luck. Now I'm just confused,I need a actual GSR to run some test on for comparison because I am out of ideas.I don't even know if the P72 ecu I bought is even working correctly.....What to do!?
Any help would be appreciated.
