Default Gs-R missing up high.......

its a 98 gs-r on a 95 ecu.......its in a 95 vx hatch. i took it to the dyno and from like 6000 to 7000 or more it was missing so bad that it didnt even print that part out. and when im on the street taking it up that high it kinda feels like a mini rev limiter all over the place. the tach of coarse is going wherever it feels like dropping down and back up anywhere from 5000 and up......

I've replaced the plugs, rotor, cap, wires.......

I had the exact same problem in my '97 GS-R. Replacing the ignitor cured it completely.

Bad ICM, open in a wire , or absence of dust shield inside dizzy.

no i havent done a compression test yet i was supposed to have gotten that done awhile ago. so it could be the igniter ? also no CEL being thrown. what the hell is a dizzy distributor? lol

Yeah, could definitely be the ignitor, but I'd check for an open in a wire & the dust shield first - these are more often the cause.

Dizzy=distributor.

well it was definitely an opEn wiRe... the tach works fine now and runs strong all the way until 8200 like the good ole DaYs damn its been awhile. i did notice that it will still do it once in awhile when im first starting out like merging into traffic.....it will hesitate really bad until i either take off the gas or just stomp on it after a few seconds ??? guess i just wont be pulling out in front of cars going fast.
